Hi! My name is Jacob Wolf, and I am super excited to be joining the Visual Materials Section
steering committee as a Member-at-Large.
I currently work for the Getty Research Institute as a Special Collections Archivist, where I
am processing the Johnson Publishing Company (JPC) archive with a team of archivists in
Chicago. Currently, I am working on multi-format photo files, helping manage agents
and subjects in ArchivesSpace, and I am continuing research on the television show
Ebony/Jet Showcase that JPC produced in the 1980s and 1990s.
Other institutions I have worked at include the Archives and Special Collections Library at
Western Michigan University, the Internet Scout Research Group, the University of
Wisconsin Digital Collections Center, and Wisconsin Center for Film and Theater
Research. I have an MLIS from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and a B.A. in Public History from Western Michigan University. I also have a background in museums.
Outside of work, I’m a musician and a big movie person. I love a good schlocky horror film!
This will be my first experience in leadership with SAA, so I’m looking forward to the next two years!
