VMS LEADERSHIP — Get to Know Paige Adair (2024)

Hello everyone! I’m thrilled to serve as this year’s Vice Chair and look forward to contributing to the planning of upcoming events and collaborating on the Three-Year Strategic Plan. With a background in the arts, I currently serve as the Senior Archivist and Fine Art Specialist at the Portman Archives in Atlanta, GA, where I focus on preserving and sharing the legacy of architect and artist John C. Portman, Jr. My current projects include cataloging our artwork collections and working on a strategic effort to reduce our off-site storage footprint. Prior to this role, I was the Manager of Reprographic Services at the Atlanta History Center, where I gained valuable experience in understanding visual materials-based collections.

I’ve previously been involved with the Society of American Archivists (SAA) through the Design Records Section, and I’m excited to now be part of the Visual Materials Section as well! Outside of work, I enjoy painting and printmaking, which allow me to stay connected to my creative side. I also love walking my hound, Louise, and spending time outdoors. I especially enjoy working with physical artwork and photographic materials, and it’s always exciting when we uncover a unique hand-rendered drawing. I’m looking forward to what lies ahead as I collaborate with the Visual Materials community in the coming years!
