Hello, I am excited to become further involved with SAA and VMS as a Visual Materials Section Member-at-Large. I was a VMS intern as a graduate student and have been working on the SAA Digital Archives Specialist certificate since then, and glad to say I will soon be taking the DAS exam. I am an archivist and special collections librarian, which allows me to learn and work with a compilation of materials, technology, and people. I enjoy the challenges and routines this brings me and the continuous learning of new areas to study. I have experience in public and special collection libraries, entertainment studio archives, and museum archives. Visual materials have long since been a keen interest of mine in particular photographs and cartographic materials. My current project at the Amon Carter Museum Archive allows me to work with such materials digitizing them for access and posterity, as well as researching the people and places in the images to provide more context and better metadata.
